迪拜世界贸易中心是20世纪80年代迪拜第一座摩天大楼。虽然现今这座大楼已经被周围繁多的高楼大厦所埋没，但是它仍是迪拜的国际贸易和商务中心，二十多年以来众多国际性的重要会议都在这里举行。 2003年，投资1.77亿美元的迪拜国际会议展览中心（Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, DIEC）在迪拜世贸中心旁边建成，展览中心总面积3.7万平方，米共有9个主展厅。建成的第一年就举办了国际货币基金组织和世界银行年度会议，吸引了15000多个各国和地区的参会代表。

The Dubai World Trade Centre was the first skyscraper in Dubai in the 1980s. Although the building has been buried by the surrounding tall buildings, it is still Dubai's international trade and business center, where many important international conferences have been held for more than two decades. In 2003, the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center (Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, DIEC) with an investment of us $177 million was built next to the Dubai World Trade Center, with a total area of 37,000 square meters and nine main exhibition halls. In its first year, it hosted the IMF and the World Bank annual meetings, attracting more than 15,000 delegates from various countries and regions.
